The following message is posted for your information in regard to Muger Trail and Tim Cameron's effort to provide satelite toilet service for the trail. I hope we all act on helping in this worthwhile service.
"Account Balance $282.40 11-5-05
The Munger Trail is a treasured gift! We have been blessed to live near it and have access to it. The single moms, unemployed, and elderly seem to view it as a sanctuary from some of life's harsh blows. To those who have lost loved ones, it is a place of healing. As long as the government can't or won't supply these biffies, we should step forward and do what we can to make this basic need happen. I hope to have the thousand dollars I need for 2006, by next May. Any donations or fund raisers between now and then would be greatly appreciated."

October 9 Meeting:
We had our meeting and more detail will follow. Briefly the highlights are:
We still have T-shirts available. So if you are thinking of getting a gift for a distant family member, the $20.00 offer for members is still good. Ask Joe about getting your shirt. Thanks. We still have a couple of medium Racing Jerseys at the special price of $40.00. This is a great deal.
We have signed up over 50 individual and family memberships and have over 60 paid-up members.
The checkbook is in good shape with a balance over $1700.00
Paula, Joe, Keith and Marty Heimer are going to be our nominating committee for next year. If you are interested in helping out or would like a position in club, they would really like to know.
We are looking for someone to coordinate club pictures, and possibly someone to help. So please consider this. It is a really important job for the club.
Destination Skates. Joe is going to help out with a schedule of 'Roller Dome' and possibly more destination skates next year.
Craig is helping with next year's calendar. If you have any ideas let us know. We will have a spring club coffee meeting probably in April or May. So please look for it.
Also we will probably coordinate the spring meeting with a used wheel and bearings donation for the speed skating club and also some community service donation.
A few other things: Keith is working on a presentation about our club. So if you know of a service club looking for a presentation please keep Keith in mind. The Superior 4th of July parade is an idea that may not resurface, unless someone feels strongly about it. We are looking into sponsors and membership promotion for next year so if you have any suggestions, let us know.
There is a club meeting Sunday, Oct. 9th at 11:00 AM. This will take place after the Jelly Roll at the Blue Note Cafe in Canal Park Please feel free to bring up anything you would like to discuss regarding next years club activities.
You should have received the agenda in an email. So please look for it. Thanks.
The NSI Marathon weekend is over and I hope you all had a great time.
We started out with a social on Thursday at Old Chicago. Those who were there had a good time. Consider attending next year if you get a chance. Look for it next year in an email or listed in the club calendar of events.
The booth was a big success as we signed up over 50 members for next year and we sold just about 3 dozen of the new t-shirts. Thanks to Joe for organizing the booth and hanging in for the duration. Paula did all the work on the t-shirts and it really made the weekend special. Paula is checking on an additional order.
We did have winners of the new membership gift certificates. Ron and Debbie Rice won the 100.00 Play-it-Again Sports gift certificate and Jim Paczynski won the $50.00 Ski Hut certificate. So congratulations to them and thanks to all who took the time to sign-up for next year.
The Winners have been determined in the NIS Cup. Thanks to Craig for the work on this. The list will be updated here soon. The winners are:
A complete list will be posted later in the NIS cup Link.
Also Gerry Vangen helped out with the following Fun Skates pictures

Overall many of our club members did exceptionally well in the skate. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and so thanks to the NSI people.
If you helped in some way or stopped by the booth and gave some moral support, thanks. Thanks, to Marty Heimer for the keeping the check book and all the work with our sponsors. Thanks to Marty Hope for his work with the Friday Night Skate. Thanks to Kara Biland and Nancy Cameron for helping with the club pictures on Saturday. Which should be posted soon. Thanks.
Pete

April 17, 2005 Meeting
On April 17 the club had its annual meeting. At that meeting, which was rather informal, a discussion was held about continuing with the club or merging our club in with the one located in the Twin Cities. The discussion weighed the merits of having a local club and the collective voice and community that it affords all of us. So the general consensus was that the local club would be a good thing to keep going. After some indecision on how to proceed, several things were apparent. Both Bob Cragin although not present had indicated a willingness to step forward to help hold the club together. Marty Heimer agreed to stay on as Treasurer. I agreed to step forward as President on the assumption that all present would be willing to help out in some of the tasks the club has before it.
Marty Hope made a motion to elect Pete Lawson, President, Marty Heimer, Treasurer and Bob Cragin, Secretary. This was seconded by Tim Cameron and a consensus vote carried the motion.
Bob, Marty and I have had a transition meeting with Terry on April 26. Since that time I have started to edit the web-site to reflect our calendar of events for the upcoming year. We have met and are actively taking to members in hopes to find board members. Our bylaws do have provisions for up to three board members. We are hoping to combine the club coffee on June 5, with a general membership meeting to confirm our new board. We have changed the checking account to our names. Bob, Marty and I have become signers on the checking account.
Please check out the calendar, many club activities are planned. Please help out in any way you can and share your comments with me. We are looking for your opinion.
